Black Horse Expressions was born from a life lived in the saddle — shaped by decades of early mornings, sun-drenched arenas, and an unwavering love for the horse and the sport of dressage.

The Story Behind the Brand

Andrea Palumbo has been an equestrian her entire life. From her early days as a rider to her years as a dressage instructor, her world has always revolved around horses, horsemanship, and the community that surrounds them.

With a background in Fashion Merchandising and Journalism, Andrea brought a unique eye to the equestrian world — one that saw not just the sport, but the style, the identity, and the artistry woven into every ride. That perspective led her to spend 13 years as a saddle fitter and sales representative across the Northeast, working closely with riders at every level and earning their trust one fitting at a time.

What started as a small offering to her clients — stylish, thoughtfully designed signature tees that riders could wear proudly in and out of the barn — quietly grew into something more. Riders responded. Word spread. And Black Horse Expressions became a brand, expanding into logo headwear and tote bags that carry the same premium, equestrian-inspired aesthetic.

The designs are rooted in the language and elegance of dressage, but made for life beyond the arena. Style them with riding breeches and tall boots, dress them up with jeans and a statement necklace, or keep it easy with leggings and bare feet. No saddle required.
